The Big Picture People – Holden Commodore

Recently John  Bowe Driving have had the pleasure to have George, Spiros, Nick, Eddie & Alex from Gantech Racing (http://gantech-racing.net/content/index.php) attend our High Performance courses. They boys from Gantech have enjoyed a number of different cars on the track with us so far including an impressive Dodge Viper, VE HSV and SS Commodore’s. With feedback from the instructors at John Bowe Driving adjustments have been made to improve not just the drivers but the cars also, making them better for track activities.

The time has come for Gantech to focused their efforts into building track specific cars and we are pleased to unveil George & Spiros’ Big Picture People SS Commodore track car. The car was actually unveiled at the recent HIA Home Ideas Show at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre and looked stunning sitting in the entry area with its race bred graphics and wings.

This car started life as a standard SS Commodore and has continually been improved for track driving ever since, culminating in its current form which includes a full roll cage, racing harness & race seat along with heaps of other go fast goodies under the skin. The V8 engine is now a larger 6.2lt LS3 crate motor with extra coolers installed producing 430kw and over 850nm of torque. The suspension has been upgraded to include bilstien shocks and springs with whiteline racing sway bars all round with larger race style HSV brakes. The body has not been left out, it has received a full V8 Supercar style wing package with a massive front spoiler and huge rear wing.
