Preparing for your courseDrive to Survie defensive driving course;
- Your car should be in roadworthy condition.
- Please check your oil, water and fuel levels.
- Also, Check your tyre pressures before attending.
Clothing (recommendations):
You will spend some of the day standing outside your car so bring suitable protective clothing and equipment.
Winter: Warm comfortable clothes, a hat/beanie, a wind & water proof coat, golf sized umbrella.
Summer: A sun-hat, sunscreen, insect repellant, drinking water.
Food:
- John Bowe Driving provide lunch and refreshments at most venues across Australia (noted on your booking confirmation letter).
- Please advise us if you have any specific dietary requirements (some requirements are unable to be catered for sue to local providers) although standard vegetarian items are usually available.
Advanced driving course;
- Your car should be in roadworthy condition.

- Also, Check your tyre pressures before attending and have them set at 4-6psi higher than the manufacturers recommendation.
- Metal valve caps arte recommended and you should remove wheel trims that may fall off.

High Performance circuit driving course;
- Your vehicle will be subjected to a highly stressful day.
- You need to have a passneger seat & seat belts or harness fitted. - Check your oil, radiator and other fluid levels along with the following items;
Tyres:
- Must be set for on-track conditions: at least 8 to 10 p.s.i. higher than the manufacturer's recommendations.
- Metal valve caps should be fitted.
- Remove wheel trims that may fall off.
Brakes:
- You will need to check (or have checked for you) that your brake pads have sufficient material for a day on-track. It is preferable to consult your brake dealer about having high performance pads fitted for the day.
- Changing brake fluid to a high performance variety is also highly recommended.
Clothing:
-You will need to bring a helmet, if you do not have a suitable helmet John Bowe Driving have limited helmets available for hire ($25 per day), please inform us when enrolling for your course.
- You should wear long-sleeved non-synthetic top and trousers, and thin-soled shoes.
- Driving gloves are also recommended.
Safety:
- Clear your car of all potentially dangerous loose objects.
- It is recommended that a Fire Extinguisher is securely fitted in your vehicle.
Noise : Noise at Sandown Raceway must not exceed 75 dB(A), measured 30m from track.
